![]() ![]() A big problem with laptop speakers is that they have a horrible response curve and generally just sound bad, cutting lows, exaggerates highs and overall tends to distort the sound. ![]() The second part is a bit harder, since generally the mixing and mastering stages should be done using good speakers. So have a comfortable listening level and you should do fine. But the level should also be loud enough so you won't just adjust all the levels in mixing up to compensate the quietness. You should have it quiet enough so your ears won't squish and mush all the sounds together too much. ![]() The listening levels are so subjective that I'd dare say there is no single answer for the first question. ![]()
